Biology & Lore

Aurorus is an incredibly ancient Pokémon that lived in freezing cold tundras over 100 million years ago. It has diamond-shaped crystals on its body which expel air as cold as -240 degrees Fahrenheit (-150 degrees Celsius). It can use this extreme cold to create walls of ice to shield itself from attacks.

The beautiful, flowing sails running down its neck change colors and shimmer brightly, especially when it is howling or expressing emotion. When it cries out, auroras appear in the sky above it.

Temperament

Despite its massive size and the deadly cold it produces, Aurorus is known to have a very gentle and kind disposition. It rarely uses its freezing powers aggressively, preferring instead to freeze its opponents solid only if absolutely necessary to protect itself or its young.

Evolutionary Line

Aurorus evolves from Amaura starting at level 39, but only when leveled up at night.
